NEWS: METISSE STARTS WORK ON NEW FACTORY AND MUSEUM

Metisse Motorcycles has taken the first step in a project to build a new 20,000sq.ft combined factory and museum at its Oxfordshire HQ.

On 27 November brothers Don and Derek Rickman, who effectively started the brand, cut the first sod at a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction.

Work is scheduled to begin on the building early in 2019 and will enable purchasers of new Metisse motorcycles to be able to watch their machines being hand-built, while enjoying a look around the museum, which will highlight the firm’s long and successful history in competition and on the road.

Metisse says the new production facility will allow the licensed McQueen replicas to be built alongside the newly developed 1000cc parallel twin that has been built from scratch and housed in the MK5 frame.

The driving force behind this ambitious project is company owner Gerry Lisi.
