JOB: TECHNICAL ADVISOR AT YAMAHA

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy Aftersales Division for a Technical Advisor to deliver comprehensive technical support for all three of our main product groups.
This is an office based position available at our HQ in Woking primarily providing information to our dealers and customers on our range of Motorcycle, Marine and Power Products and as such we anticipate that the successful applicant will have a sound and relevant technical background with experience working as a Technician, Service Advisor or in another similar position. This job may suit somebody from such roles looking to take up a fresh challenge within the industry.

Part of the main responsibilities will also include providing the factories in Japan & Europe with market feedback and offering advice & support to other functions within the Aftersales Division, such as warranty and customer service.

The successful candidate will need to be based within reasonable commuting distance of our offices, have good communication and basic computer skills with programmes such as Microsoft Office etc. Occasional travel including attendance at shows and other promotional events will be expected. A full car and full motorcycle driving licence is essential and applications will not progress without this.

Those that apply will need to be able to work in team environments, have a flexible approach and strive to better their knowledge and skills every day. Particular effort and enthusiasm will be expected to be put into learning technical areas of the products where knowledge may not be as familiar to you as others to ensure we maintain a consistent high standard of service and remain customer centric with the information we deliver across our entire dealer and customer network.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will need to be a self-motivated, possess excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills and always maintain a high level of professionalism. You must have the ability to build long-term customer relationships, display excellent personal organisation skills, a hunger to succeed and the desire to go the extra mile. While previous experience is a benefit, it Is not a prerequisite.

Essential
You must have a full car and motorcycle licence. Availability to work Saturdays and the occasional weekend show, such as the NEC Motorcycle Show and MCN Live.

Following unprecedented growth of MOTUL in the UK and EIRE Motodirect Limited are recruiting for Regional Sales Managers (North and South of the country) to further reinforce MOTUL’s market leading position.

Job Purpose
Reporting to Senior Brand Manager the primary function of this role is the commercial development of MOTUL within the UK dealer network. The position will require excellent communication and business development skills and the ability for forge strong relationships with new and existing dealers. Time management will also be a clear requirement to ensure that MOTUL receives the necessary activity to achieve significant market share growth in line with agreed 5-year plan.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Develop new dealer opportunities for MOTUL within agreed territory delivering new business with retained gross margin in line with brand objectives
  • Work closely with brand manager to deliver new sales opportunities in line with pre agreed sales targets and be measured against these
  • Implement dealer POS and Instore promotional activity
  • Be a key point of contact for each dealership within agreed area with primary focus on Suzuki supporting new OEM partnership
  • Arrange and execute all outdoor events and promotional days
  • Establish an ongoing view of expansion for MOTUL – new products, initiatives etc.
  • Competitor analysis – ongoing analysis of market penetration and SWAT
  • Product training – certificated to dealers to cover all aspects of the MOTUL range
  • Establish clear brand values and clearly communicate that through activity
  • High level technical support for prospective customers
  • Technical advice and account manager support for existing dealers and technical partners
  • Negotiating sales pricing and contracts – with support of brand manager
  • Take ownership for a proportion of the growth plan for volume – work towards volume and sales targets
  • Competitor analysis – ongoing ‘ear to the ground’ for competitor pricing and activity
  • Technical training for dealers and technical partners
  • Industry leading package based on experience with company vehicle
