Milton Keynes-headquartered Suzuki GB has signed a three-season extension to its sponsorship deal with MK Dons, its “local” professional football club. The agreement will again see the Suzuki logo carried on the Dons’ first team kit, training wear, and replica shirts until 2019.

The package also offers Suzuki high visibility in pitch-side, programme, and magazine advertising, at promotional events, on official club stationery, and on the backdrops used for the team’s media interviews. Suzuki will also continue to be involved with the club’s renowned Sports and Education Trust.

NEWS: ESTIMATES BLOWN AWAY AT BRISTOL CLASSIC AUCTION

ESTIMATES BLOWN AWAY AT BRISTOL CLASSIC AUCTION

British Dealer News is the best place for motorcycle industry news

A selection of classic motorcycles wowed the crowds this past weekend at the Carole Nash Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show, held at the Royal Bath and West venue. Three entries from well-known collector Henry Body drew significant attention  – particularly his rare 1913 Williamson.

Exhibition manager Nick Mowbray said: “There was much anticipation about Henry’s bikes and they proved popular among showgoers, with plenty of people gathered round to get a glimpse of the superb examples.”

Mowbray said the strength of the classic motorcycle market was evident, with traders reporting a successful weekend despite the inclement weather affecting travel in and around the South-West.

At the Charterhouse auction a collection of barn-find restoration projects and spares consigned from Devon sold for £40,000 – nearly three times the top estimate.

Charterhouse’s head of motorcycles Matthew Whitney said: “Both the preview day and the auction were very well attended, and we’re also delighted with our online efforts which saw a record number of clients registering to bid.”

Charlie Cannon’s AJS Silver Streak was named as the much-coveted Best in Show winner while it was the Gold Star Owners' Club which claimed the Best Club Stand award. The Gold Star exhibition team went for an eclectic mix of machines, showcasing a variety of road and race bikes including off-road examples. The group’s chairman Ron May said: “It just goes to prove that Gold Stars can do anything.”

Attention for organiser Classic Bike Shows now turns to Stafford’s flagship classic event, taking place on the weekend of 23-24 April.
