NEWS: KAWASAKI DEALERSHIP TO CLOSE AS OWNERS RETIRE

A motorcycle dealership that has been trading in Ramsgate, Thanet, for 45 years will close down in April. Dave Fox Motorcycles in King Street was founded by Dave Fox and is run by daughter Denise and her husband Peter who are now planning to retire.

Dave was a successful side-car cross racer in the 1960s and 70s and was an international champion. His son Douglas was a national champion in the 1980s.

Dave began in business in 1973 in Westgate, selling Triumph, Norton and CZ. In 1976 the business moved to the King Street site and became a Kawasaki dealer.

Dave retired a number of years ago and the shop is run by Denise and her husband Peter.

A statement on the company’s Facebook page says: “We are sad to announce that after 45 years of trading Dave Fox Motorcycles is closing its doors. Pete and Denise have decided to retire and will be off riding their bikes with Dave.

“We will remain open until April 2019 and will carry on trading as usual [as a Kawasaki dealership]  until that time.
