The official charity of MotoGP™, Riders for Health, are launching a 25-item online auction of and motorcycling memorabilia, to celebrate their 25th Anniversary, and to help raise funds for their life-saving work in Africa.
The 25 items, one for each year of Riders’ life-saving work, ranging from boots to year-books, have been donated and signed by some of the biggest names in MotoGP™, including 2014 World Champion Marc Marquez and one of the most popular stars of the sport, Valentino Rossi.
The auction will run for 10 days on the Riders for Health eBay page from 5th November until 15th November to coincide with the last race of the MotoGP™ season. Bids can be placed on any of the items in the auction by visiting http://stores.ebay.co.uk/riders-for-health
A special highlight of the auction includes a Mirco Lazzari 300 Book signed by multiple MotoGP™ riders including Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Bradley Smith and Scott Redding; the book documents the 2013 MotoGP™ season in stunning photographs.
The auction also hosts an array of unique memorabilia from British riders, including MotoGP™ star Bradley Smith’s boot, Bradley’s signed and annotated Silverstone circuit map, and a Cal Crutchlow signed picture board.
Riders for Health is giving motor racing fans who are unable to attend their live auctions the opportunity to get their hands on their own piece of history. Riders for Health’s famous annual event, Day of Champions, raised over £100,000 this year from the auction – a record-breaking figure! This online auction is a great opportunity for fans to have a chance to own items similar to those auctioned on stage at Day of Champions.
All of the money raised from the online auction will help Riders for Health ensure health workers in Africa have access to reliable, well maintained motorcycles and ambulances so that they can continue to transform health care for 21.5 million people.
